Gudauri season opening weekend: 13-14 December
Live DJs at New Gudauri plaza, free beginner lessons on Saturday morning, and a fireworks finale on Sunday night.
The opening weekend has grown into Gudauri's biggest annual party. The resort is closing the plaza between New Gudauri and the gondola base to cars from Friday afternoon through Sunday night; expect food trucks, two stages and a small ski-swap market.
Saturday morning from 10:00 to 12:00 the ski schools offer free 45-minute beginner lessons on the conveyor — booking is not required, just turn up with rented gear.
Sunday closes with fireworks at 20:30 from the Kudebi mid-station, visible from the whole New Gudauri strip. Transfer demand will be heavy both days; book early.
