Cat-skiing tours to Chaukhi ridge launch this winter
Two operators are running daily snowcat shuttles to the Chaukhi ridge, 400 m of untracked vertical on each lap.
After two seasons of permit back-and-forth, the Chaukhi cat-skiing concession went live in September. Both operators are starting with four laps per day, groups of eight, with a certified guide and a tail guide on every run.
The terrain is north-facing, so snow quality holds longer than on Gudauri's main faces. Expect wide, moderately-angled bowls up top and tighter birch glades near the valley road where the cat picks up for the lift back.
Price is 650 GEL per person including transceiver, shovel and probe rental; avalanche rescue training is bundled into the first lap of the day.
