Goderdzi's new upper lift finally online
Three seasons overdue, the chair that opens the north bowl is finally running — and it changes the resort.
The upper chair at Goderdzi has been under construction since 2023. Component delays, a dispute with the Turkish contractor and two winters of weather closures pushed the opening back three times. The commissioning crew finished acceptance testing in September.
The chair adds 240 vertical metres and about 1.5 km of pisted runs facing north — the aspect that holds Goderdzi's famously dry maritime snow longest. For strong skiers, the top also unlocks easy access to a wide, mellow backcountry bowl that previously meant a 90-minute skin.
Day pass goes up by 10 GEL to reflect the chair's operating cost. Season passes bought before 1 December keep the old price.
